    Utilizing Both-Sided Tapes
    Post-processing Banner for Accurate Graphic

It is hard to print a large format banner at a time, so several prints are usually joined to form it. But sometimes graphics seem to be badly matched one another probably because of low accuracy in putting together. We can overlook it with tolerance but it is right to product perfectly and in depth. And sometimes joining section, a large format banner or a banner which is set up in place with terrible wind pressure, is cracked. Both-sided tapes are used to usefully correct the above instances as after processing and its effect is outstanding.

    Insufficiency of Only Sewing Post-processing
Banner is produced in a relatively simple way with eyelet buttonhole for installation post-processing. By the way, we have to do another processing when making longer than a 1m 80cm banner. Typically sewing is the way of the most wide use for joining banners. Sewing means to join banners with a sewing machine which we usually can see a laundry shop. It seems that there's no problem on safety and quality as we use this way generally. But when watching out large-format real pictures with banners or cloth, sometimes we can see it's not clear on the sewn part between two fabrics.
Jung-chan Park, a section chief in Hana Graphic, said "There're normally two cases that texts or graphics are crossed each other when jointing banners; one is when a worker sews wrong, and the other is when banners are individually different size. Even though consuming media excessively, same-sized media is appropriate for sewing. In case that a worker sews wrong, you need to accept it because it is proceeded by human. Even customers seldom discontent with insignificant mistake. In addition, such edges need sewing more than twice because they can be torn easily."
Jang-young Lee, a manager in Woojin Total Sign, another manufacturer, said "Joining banners is processed only by sewing. A skilled worker can produce perfectly joined banners that graphics are not cross each other when sewing banners. In case of urgent matter or a beginner, it is, however, possible not to be crossed each other. In case of large format prints or exact production, sometimes we sew slowly to weave densely."
Others only sew when joining banners and some of them mentioned insufficiency of sewing. And they commonly said that a large format print and edges need sewing several times to be joined securely.
There's no big complaint because of crossed each other, as most manufacturers whom it may concern said. Even though graphics are crossed each other, we don't recognize it outstandingly because banners usually set higher position than our eyes. But it is advisable to produce correctly and sincerely whenever setting up.

Able to express accurate graphics preventing from lifting up of fabrics
A deliberative thing, when joining banners, is to put accurate graphics together and prevent getting torn after setting. The latter seems to be solved by manufactures. However, the former is not to be seen frequently. To overcome this problem, some manufacturers have their own know-how. Taping is the most outstanding way for it.
Ki-Sam Choi, Abel I+d. specializing in printing real pictures and manufacturing banners, mentioned the know-how of taping, saying "Only with sewing, graphics can be joined correctly if a skilled worker pays attention to join banners but it's not easy in reality. So, we notice taping. That is completing to sew before fixing 2 fabrics with both-sided tapes that you want to join. Generally, the reason why graphics are out of line is because both fabrics are folded while sewing. But it is possible to join two fabrics because they prevent against its cause. Moreover, firmly joining is possible because there's adhesive strength in tapes. In addition, there're precautions during taping process. you need to avoid sewing on the surface which is taped. Tapes are sticky and it is easy to snap for string."
And he mentioned the way of choosing a both-sided tape, "It is advisable to use both-sided tapes with less adhesiveness than ones for general purpose. Once using strong adhesive tapes are used, they can adhere each other and it would cause workflow to go wrong while joining fabrics. And adhesives may be leaked on a print due to high temperature if you use strong adhesive tapes in Summer."
He explained know-how for secure putting together, "It is important to put them together firmly, in order to keep banners from drafts and shocks, as well as join them accurately. It depends on how we sew two fabrics. It is good to sew several times
in case of setting up with large format prints or in locations where a draft blows but you need to spend time and manpower. So we worked out a way to sew just once but stitch again at regular intervals. It could be simple but effectively prevents from getting unwoven. Its intervals are depended on worker's estimation."
When fabrics are joined, making graphic design active is also important. In case of a figure graphic, it needs to keep away from jointing parts of face or high light.
