Marking the turning point in visual communication

The desire to leave the crisis behind, the search for new ideas to reinvent business, and the chance to take home the tools to start 2010 on the right footing: these are the ingredients that made VISCOM ITALIA 2009 such a success.

    Viscom Italy 2009 Review

    · The focus of the exhibition has shifted, with the 500+ suppliers present offering not only technology, but above all personalized applications and custom made communication solutions. And orders were taken directly on the exhibition floor once again!
    · New categories of visitors have made their entrance into VISCOM ITALIA: managers and professional figures from the manufacturing industry, the world of architecture and interior design and the large-scale retail trade, all on the lookout for ways to innovate.
    · Friday saw the peak of overseas visitors, accounting for 24% of the total.
    · Digital Signage by Viscom was the star of the show, with stands, seminars and face-to-face encounters for the new frontiers of digital communication.
    · The MATCHING formula in particular really hit the target, with planned face-to-face encounters taking place at the stands of exhibitors who presented case histories and testimonials of winning projects throughout the three days of VISCOM.

    Providing projects for new visitors

A huge number of new solutions and developments were presented by over 500 Italian and foreign suppliers present on over 40,000 m2 of exhibition space. Innovation was the byword in all segments: from technologies for large-format digital printing to wireless data and voice transmission systems used for advertising campaign audience management; from luminous signs that change shape, size and colour to engraving, from increasingly versatile embroidery machines to cutting plotters, from screen printing to pad printing and new graphics software, from display units for sales outlets to aluminium compounds for signs and fit-out systems, from rollup screens to new wall screens and video screen models, and, last but not least, a new area dedicated to Digital Signage, where visitors were given the chance to "reach out and touch" the future of communication, able to customise messages and content depending on the target aimed at. And all of this with the same aim: to present to visitors applications and solutions made possible by today's most innovative technologies.

"I believe VISCOM ITALIA 2009 really has marked a turning point", commented Brigitte Hunt. "We staged a different kind of fair, one in which visitors were given the chance to take a practical look at the possibilities today's technologies offer, listen to people who have carried out successful projects and gather ideas for their own businesses. This model has brought a new kind of visitor to Viscom - professionals and managers not only from the world of visual communication, but also from the manufacturing industry, architecture and design, as well as marketing managers from the large-scale retail trade looking for newer applications to customize products and communicate with customers in the sales outlets.
